Foodbank
Monday through to Friday Shoreline opens its doors so people can come along and collect food.
It started back in July 2011 when a local Southport bakery allowed volunteers to collect produce that was unsold everyday, which the church then parcelled up and distributed to those in need. Today those in need can pick up many more items including fresh fruit and vegetable, bakery, non-parishable food as well as toiletries -supplied by a mixture of local businesses and national companies/charities.
Our food bank is about more than food — it’s about restoring dignity, building community, and helping people move forward. In 2025, 215 people moved on from our support services. We provide healthy food options Monday to Friday, while promoting recycling, healthy eating, community engagement, and people-centred care. Our bakery support now helps supplement food provision and supports upcoming cooking classes to equip families with practical skills. Through partnerships such as Kids Count and Green Pastures, we continue strengthening support networks and community cohesion, helping keep families together during difficult times. Despite significantly increased overhead costs, our diverse team of volunteers remains at the heart of everything we do — with 98% saying they feel closer to their community through volunteering. Come and be part of a welcoming, diverse group where everyone is valued and no one feels forgotten.
The food bank is open at 5pm – 6pm Mon through Fri. (time and days subject to change). Please bring a bag to collect your items.
If you wish to sign up to the food bank please bring identification, which is a form of i.d with your name and address on it, and if claiming food for children please bring a child benefit letter in the name of the child and identification for the child.
